Rum, lime and sugar go back a long way in the Caribbean. Cocktail Daiquiri goes back to 1898 when Mr. Jennings Cox, an American engineer, created it in the town of Daiquiri, Cuba.
The classic Daiquiri brings them together in a perfect blend of BACARDÍ Carta Blanca rum, the crispness of fruit and the sweetness of sugar.
- 50 ml - BACARDÍ Carta Blanca Rum
- 25 ml - Lime Juice
- 2 tsp - Extra Fine Sugar
Place sugar and freshly pressed lime juice into a cocktail shaker and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Then pour BACARDÍ Carta Blanca rum and fill in the shaker with half-cubed and half-crushed ice. Shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled. Finally, strain through a fine tea strainer into a chilled coupette. Garnish with a mint leaf.
Serve it ice cold for a bracingly refreshing drink.
